◆ Motivation for joining the company

After graduating from high school, I decided not to go on to higher education but to get a job. When I was looking for what kind of jobs were available while job hunting, I came across Yamada Chemical.
The hiring manager who was in charge of the company information session was very kind and approachable, which made me want to join the company. Another major factor in my decision to join the company was that I found out what kind of products Yamada Chemical makes and how they contribute to society, and I was very interested in the products.

◆Current job

The equipment department that I belong to has a wide range of work, starting with the installation of production equipment such as design, ordering, installation, and test runs, and we handle everything from equipment maintenance such as inspection, maintenance, modification, and repair. It can be said that this is an all-round job that can handle anything related to factory equipment. Within the equipment department, I am responsible for a variety of jobs, including electrical, mechanical, and on-site installation. Currently, I am mainly involved in installation work, but all-round skills are required, so the range of things I can do will expand. But there's also a lot to remember. However, what you learn from reading books may not be appropriate in the field, so you need to be flexible and adapt to the situation.

◆Work satisfaction/experience stories

My job is to maintain and manage in-house production equipment, and our in-house manufacturing operators and researchers serve as our customers. So, I think this is one of the few jobs where I can directly receive the evaluation of my work.
For example, even if you make something that someone has requested, it may be difficult to use when you actually use it. In such cases, I put myself in the shoes of the workers, go through trial and error, and actually listen to the workers as I create the product. I also feel rewarded when I hear comments such as ``Thank you'' or ``It's easy to use'' when I see a finished product.

◆Future vision

I'm still in a position where I'm still learning, but when I have a junior, I want to deepen my knowledge of the equipment so that I can answer questions about the equipment just like my seniors do now. Ultimately, I would like to become an employee who can handle a wide range of equipment installation, maintenance, etc., and who can be relied upon even in emergencies.
My goal is to work with the mindset that ``the next process is the customer,'' and to make the customer feel happy that I was in charge of the equipment.

◆Charm of Yamada Chemical

I graduated from high school and started working without knowing anything about the equipment or tools used. However, I was taught from the beginning and with the support of my seniors, I was able to do a wide range of work.

◆A word from a senior
Mr. Y joined in 2006
Always face any task with a positive attitude

He has been able to listen to the opinions of his seniors honestly and has learned a variety of things, so I look forward to his continued success in the future.

◆To everyone who will join the company from now on

The work in the equipment department is to make things, but the equipment department also handles a wide range of other tasks such as design, electrical work, and programming. Find what you like to do and what you are good at, and let's work together.

◆How to spend your holidays

Lately, I've been addicted to moving my body and sweating it out, so I do some muscle training at home. I'm also running on a nearby riverbed in preparation for the Kyoto Marathon. When I'm tired, I try to bite the cat to soothe myself, but I have to be careful because if I'm too persistent, the cat will bite me.
